How the Two Golden MAs Are Blended

The indicator draws two moving averages, near and far, and both are built the same way: take the eight rungs on the ladder, give each one a weight, and blend them into a single line. The two lines just hand out those weights in opposite directions.

The near line puts most of its weight on rung 1, the fastest rung, and each rung after that gets a smaller share — every step down the ladder divides the weight by the golden ratio again. The far line does the exact same thing in reverse: rung 8, the slowest rung, gets the biggest weight, and each rung above it going down gets less.

Because both lines are built from the same golden-ratio steps, just run in opposite directions, they are mirror images of each other. The near line's weight on rung 1 and the far line's weight on rung 8 come out to the same number: 0.3903. That is also the heaviest single weight either line ever assigns — no one rung ever carries more than about thirty-nine percent of either blend.

Those weights describe the blend, not the finished line on the chart. Once the eight rungs are mixed into a near blend and a far blend, each blend is smoothed again — a volume-weighted moving average over the most recent 34 seed bars — and it's that smoothed series that gets drawn. The 0.3903 numbers say how the rungs get mixed; the 34-bar smoothing is the extra step that turns that mix into the line a trader actually sees.
